If you want to make money blogging the first thing you should do is get yourself set up with a self-hosted WordPress blog so that you can enjoy the many powerful features that are available via the thousands of WordPress plugins.
The following five plugins help me make more money with my blogs and if you install them as well I am sure they can work for you too!
I am presently using all five of these plug-ins on this blog, and they are all free to download, except for Optinskin.
1. Ad Squares Widget
The ad squares widget is the widget that you see in my sidebar where I keep my 125px x 125px ads that I recommend as resources.
Here is a snapshot of what the plugin looks like in the widgets section of the backend of WordPress.
With this plugin you can:
- Choose how many ads you want (2, 4, 6, 8 )
- Select the padding between the ads (5px, 10px…50px)
- Randomly shuffle the ads
2. Qoate Scroll Triggered Box
You’ll see this plugin in action in the bottom right corner when you scroll 50% of the way down this page.
You can use this plugin to add a custom ad to the bottom right of every page.
Another option that I have seen people to use with this plugin is to install a subscribe form rather than an ad.
Setting this plugin up took me only a few minutes. Here is an image of the settings panel:
You can also use this plugin to get people to share your content on social media, bringing you more traffic, which will help you grow your site and it’s profitability.
3. Advertisement Management
This plugin makes it easy to instantly add ads into one of seven different spots on your site.
I am currently using this plugin to add a banner add below the footer at the very bottom of the site, and below each individual post.
4. Optinskin
Optinskin is the only plugin on this list that is not free but it can make you many times more than the cost so it is well worth the money.
You can see this plugin in action at the bottom of every post on my blogs, it will fade in after a second and give you the option.
Optinskin integrates with all major email marketing service providers and will help you build your email list while improving the user experience on your site.
Here is a preview of part of the dashboard that comes with this plugin:
If you want to learn more about this plugin check out my optinskin video review and bonus.
5. Thank Me Later
This plugin works by sending an email to your commenters after they leaves a comment on your blog.
I use this plugin to give a free eBook with 101 traffic tips to everyone who leaves a comment on this blog.
I also mention my Facebook marketing eBook at fbpower.com in this email and this has undoubtedly lead to more subscribers and sales.
The Thank me Later dashboard looks like this:
You can say anything you want in your thank me later email so the possibilities for monetization are limited only by your imagination.
